Class 150 F316/L Stainless Steel Blind, Raised-Face Flange

Class 150 F316/L Stainless Steel Blind Raised-Face Flange

The Class 150 F316/L Stainless Steel Blind Raised-Face Flange manufactured to ASME A/SA182 and ASME B16.5 requirements provides a strong, corrosion-resistant solution for closing the end of industrial piping systems, valve connections, pressure vessel nozzles, and unused flanged openings. Its solid forged stainless steel construction delivers dependable sealing performance while maintaining a removable bolted connection for future system access.

ASME A/SA182 F316/L Stainless Steel

ASTM A182 / ASME SA-182 F316/F316L stainless steel offers excellent mechanical strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. The addition of molybdenum provides improved resistance to pitting and corrosion in many chloride-containing environments compared with F304 stainless steel.

F316L has a lower carbon content than F316, helping minimize carbide precipitation during welding and supporting corrosion resistance in heat-affected areas.

Class 150 Blind Flange Design

A blind flange has no center bore, allowing it to completely close or isolate a flanged piping opening. The removable bolted design provides convenient access for inspection, cleaning, maintenance, pressure testing, system modifications, and future piping expansion.

Class 150 F316/L blind flanges are widely used in chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water treatment, marine, power generation, and industrial process piping applications.

The Class 150 designation represents an ASME pressure class rather than a maximum working pressure of exactly 150 PSI. Actual allowable pressure depends on material, size, temperature, and applicable pressure-temperature ratings.

Raised-Face Flange Construction

The raised-face (RF) design incorporates an elevated gasket seating area that concentrates bolting load over the gasket to help establish an effective seal.

ASME B16.5 establishes applicable flange dimensions, facing requirements, bolt-hole patterns, tolerances, and pressure-temperature ratings.

Selecting a Class 150 F316/L Blind Flange

When ordering, verify nominal pipe size, F316/F316L material, Class 150 rating, RF facing, ASME A/SA182 specification, ASME B16.5 requirements, gasket, bolting, operating temperature, process media, and corrosion requirements.
