Class 300 Forged Carbon Steel Blind, Raised-Face Flange

Class 300 A105/SA-105 Blind Raised-Face Flange

The Class 300 ASTM A105 / ASME SA-105 ASME B16.5 Forged Carbon Steel Blind Raised-Face Flange provides a strong, reliable method for closing the end of an industrial piping system, valve connection, pressure vessel nozzle, or unused flange opening. Its solid forged construction and raised-face design provide dependable sealing for demanding pressure piping applications.

ASTM A105 / ASME SA-105 Forged Carbon Steel

Manufactured from ASTM A105 / ASME SA-105 forged carbon steel, this Class 300 blind flange offers excellent mechanical strength, toughness, and durability. A105/SA-105 is widely specified for pressure-containing components used throughout oil and gas, petrochemical processing, refineries, power generation, chemical processing, manufacturing, utilities, and industrial process piping systems.

The Class 300 designation represents an ASME pressure class rather than a maximum working pressure of 300 PSI. Actual allowable pressure depends on material, operating temperature, flange size, and applicable pressure-temperature ratings.

Blind Flange Design

Unlike weld neck, slip-on, socket weld, or threaded flanges, a blind flange has no center bore. Its solid design allows it to terminate a piping run or isolate a section of the system while maintaining a bolted flange connection.

Blind flanges are especially useful where future access may be required for inspection, cleaning, maintenance, system expansion, or piping modifications. Because they are bolted rather than permanently welded closed, they can be removed when access is needed.

Raised-Face Flange Construction

The raised-face (RF) flange features an elevated gasket seating area that concentrates bolting force over the gasket surface, helping create a reliable seal with a compatible mating flange.

Manufactured to applicable ASME B16.5 requirements, Class 300 A105/SA-105 blind flanges provide standardized dimensions, bolt patterns, facing dimensions, and pressure-temperature ratings.

When ordering, verify nominal pipe size, Class 300 rating, raised-face configuration, A105/SA-105 material, ASME B16.5 requirements, gasket selection, and service conditions for dependable industrial piping performance.
