The Figure 188R CPVC Two Hole Standoff Hanger and Restrainer is a versatile pipe support engineered for CPVC, steel, and copper piping systems. Available in sizes from 3/4" through 2", the Figure 188R functions as a hanger, guide, surge restraint, and seismic restraint depending on installation orientation. Manufactured from carbon steel with a pre-galvanized finish per ASTM A653, it provides dependable support with added corrosion protection.
CPVC Pipe Hanger, Guide and Surge Restraint
When installed on the top, bottom, or side of a supporting structure, the Figure 188R serves as a hanger and surge restraint for horizontal CPVC, steel, and copper piping. When mounted to the side of the structure, it can function as a guide for vertical piping.
The Figure 188R can also provide horizontal and vertical seismic restraint per NFPA 13-2016 requirements. It may be attached to concrete, structural steel, and other structural members using fasteners meeting applicable NFPA 13 requirements.
Beveled Design Helps Protect CPVC Pipe
The hanger's beveled edge design helps protect CPVC pipe from rough surfaces and reduces the potential for pipe abrasion. The bottom of the supported pipe is offset 1-1/2 inches from the structure, eliminating the need for separate wooden spacer blocks.
For wood structures, a supplied #10 x 1" hex washer head self-threading screw allows convenient attachment without pre-drilling.
Fast Installation and cULus Listing
Installation is straightforward: snap the hanger over the pipe and, when necessary, squeeze the strap back around it. CPVC pipe must remain free to slide through the Figure 188R. Secure the hanger using the supplied screws or appropriate listed fasteners.
