Figure 186 CPVC Two Hole Pipe Strap
Figure 186 CPVC Two Hole Pipe Strap
The Figure 186 CPVC Two Hole Pipe Strap is a versatile pipe hanger, restrainer, and guide designed for professional CPVC piping systems. Available in sizes from 3/4" through 2", the Figure 186 features zinc-plated steel construction, with an optional hot-dip galvanized finish for applications requiring additional corrosion protection.
Designed for multiple mounting orientations, this CPVC pipe strap provides an efficient solution for commercial, residential, mechanical, and fire sprinkler piping installations.
CPVC Hanger, Restrainer and Pipe Guide
The Figure 186 Two Hole Pipe Strap can support horizontal CPVC pipe when installed on the bottom or side of structural wood beams, composite beams, and minimum 20-gauge steel. When used with composite wood beams, the web must have a minimum thickness of 3/4".
When installed on top of structural wood beams, the Figure 186 can function as a restrainer to limit pipe movement caused by thrust loads during sprinkler system startup. It can also serve as a guide for limiting movement of vertically installed CPVC pipe.
Beveled Edge for CPVC Protection
The hanger features a beveled edge design that helps protect CPVC pipe from rough surfaces and reduces the potential for abrasion. During installation, mounting flanges should not be adjusted in a manner that clamps the pipe against the mounting surface. The pipe must remain free to move through the hanger.
Easy Wood and Steel Installation
Installation involves snapping the hanger over the pipe and securing it to the mounting surface. For wood structures, #10 x 1" hex washer head self-threading screws are supplied, eliminating the need for pre-drilling.
Steel installations require two #14 x 1" hex washer head self-drilling TEK screws, Part Number STD-0090, which are not supplied.
The Figure 186 is UL and ULC Listed. Combining versatile mounting, CPVC-protective construction, and hanger, guide, and restraint capabilities, the Figure 186 CPVC Two Hole Pipe Strap provides reliable support for CPVC piping systems.
