Gruvlok Grade EP EPDM Gasket
Gruvlok® Figure 7010 Reducing Coupling with Grade "E" EPDM Gasket
The Gruvlok® Figure 7010 Reducing Coupling with Grade "E" EPDM Gasket is a premium mechanical grooved coupling designed to connect two different pipe sizes quickly and efficiently while providing reliable sealing for water-based and non-petroleum applications. By eliminating the need for two separate couplings and a reducing fitting, the Figure 7010 simplifies piping layouts, reduces installation time, lowers material costs, and minimizes potential leak points. With working pressure ratings up to 500 PSI (34.5 bar), depending on pipe size and wall thickness, this reducing coupling is ideal for HVAC systems, commercial plumbing, municipal water distribution, water treatment plants, industrial processing, fire protection systems, and mechanical piping applications. The Figure 7010 is not recommended for vacuum applications.
Its compact design and dependable EPDM sealing make it a practical solution for projects requiring efficient pipe size transitions and long-term reliability.
Efficient Pipe Size Reduction
Simplified Mechanical Pipe Connections
The Gruvlok® Figure 7010 features a specially engineered reducing gasket with an integral center rib that accurately positions the gasket during installation while preventing the smaller pipe from telescoping into the larger pipe. This innovative design improves alignment, enhances sealing performance, and creates a dependable mechanical connection between different pipe diameters.
Compatible with roll-grooved and cut-grooved steel pipe, the Figure 7010 installs without welding, threading, or flanged joints, reducing labor requirements while simplifying future maintenance and piping modifications.
Grade "E" EPDM Gasket
Engineered for Water and Chemical Service
The Grade "E" EPDM gasket, identified by its distinctive green color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a service temperature range of -40°F to 230°F (-40°C to 110°C). It is recommended for water service, diluted acids, alkaline solutions, oil-free compressed air, and many non-petroleum chemical applications. The EPDM compound offers excellent resistance to heat, ozone, weathering, and aging, ensuring long-lasting sealing performance in demanding commercial and industrial environments.
The Grade "E" EPDM gasket is not recommended for petroleum products, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors, where a Grade "T" Nitrile gasket should be used instead.
