Class 600 ASME A/SA182 304/304L Stainless Steel Flange
Class 600 ASME A/SA182 304/304L Stainless Steel Flange
The Class 600 ASME A/SA182 304/304L Stainless Steel Flange provides a strong, corrosion-resistant connection for demanding industrial pressure piping systems. Combining a Class 600 pressure classification with forged or rolled 304/304L stainless steel construction, these flanges offer excellent mechanical strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and dependable sealing performance for higher-pressure process applications.
ASTM A182 / ASME SA-182 F304/F304L Stainless Steel
ASTM A182 / ASME SA-182 covers forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, forged fittings, valves, and related components intended for pressure service. F304/F304L stainless steel provides excellent general corrosion resistance along with strength, toughness, and favorable fabrication characteristics.
The lower carbon content of 304L stainless steel helps minimize carbide precipitation during welding. This characteristic makes 304L particularly valuable in welded piping systems where maintaining corrosion resistance in heat-affected areas is important.
Class 600 Stainless Steel Flange Applications
Class 600 A/SA182 304/304L stainless steel flanges are widely used in chemical processing, petrochemical facilities, power generation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, water treatment, pulp and paper, manufacturing, utilities, and industrial process piping systems.
The Class 600 designation represents an ASME pressure class and does not mean the flange has a maximum working pressure of exactly 600 PSI. Actual allowable pressure depends on material grade, flange size, operating temperature, and applicable pressure-temperature ratings.
Class 600 Flange Styles
Depending on system requirements, Class 600 304/304L stainless steel flanges may be available in weld neck, socket weld, threaded, blind, slip-on, and lap joint configurations, subject to applicable dimensional standards and size ranges. Facing options may include raised face (RF) and ring-type joint (RTJ) where applicable.
Selecting a Class 600 304/304L Flange
When ordering, verify nominal pipe size, F304/F304L grade, Class 600 rating, flange style, facing, pipe schedule or bore, dimensional standard, gasket, bolting, operating temperature, and process media for reliable industrial piping performance.
