The Gruvlok® Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket is a premium elastomer sealing solution engineered to deliver dependable, leak-resistant performance in grooved mechanical piping systems. Manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 specifications, this high-quality gasket is designed for use with Gruvlok® couplings, fittings, and valves across a wide variety of commercial, industrial, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and water distribution applications. Recognized by its distinctive green and red color code, the Grade "EP" EPDM gasket provides excellent durability, chemical resistance, and long-term sealing performance in water-based systems.
With a broad service temperature range of -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C), the Grade "EP" gasket is well suited for both cold and hot water applications while maintaining flexibility and sealing integrity under changing operating conditions.

For hot water applications, the use of Gruvlok® Xtreme Temperature Lubricant is recommended during installation to ensure optimum gasket performance and long-term sealing reliability.

The Grade "EP" EPDM gasket is NSF/ANSI 61 Certified for both cold and hot potable water applications through 12-inch pipe sizes. Important Application Considerations
Not Intended for Petroleum Service
While the Gruvlok® Grade "EP" EPDM gasket performs exceptionally well in water-based and chemical applications, it is not recommended for petroleum products, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors. For those applications, Gruvlok® offers specialized Nitrile gasket compounds specifically engineered for petroleum compatibility.
