Gruvlok Grade EP EPDM Gasket

Gruvlok® Figure 7001 Flexible Coupling with Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket

The Gruvlok® Figure 7001 Flexible Coupling with Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket is a premium mechanical grooved coupling engineered to provide a durable, flexible pipe connection for commercial and industrial piping systems. Designed to accommodate thermal expansion, contraction, vibration, and minor pipe deflection, the Figure 7001 delivers dependable sealing performance while simplifying installation and reducing stress on connected equipment. Capable of working pressures up to 1,000 PSI (69 bar), depending on pipe size and wall thickness, this coupling is ideal for HVAC systems, commercial plumbing, chilled water, hot water, fire protection, water treatment, industrial processing, mining, and municipal piping applications.

When equipped with the Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, the Figure 7001 becomes an excellent choice for water-based systems requiring long-term reliability, chemical resistance, and potable water approval.

Flexible Joint Design

Reduces Vibration and Accommodates Pipe Movement

The Gruvlok® Figure 7001 forms a flexible grooved-end pipe connection that helps absorb vibration, minimize pipeline noise, and compensate for thermal expansion and contraction. This flexibility reduces stress on pumps, valves, chillers, and other mechanical equipment while extending the service life of the piping system.

Compatible with roll-grooved and cut-grooved steel pipe, grooved-end fittings, and valves, the Figure 7001 provides a versatile mechanical joining solution that eliminates the need for welding, threading, or flanged connections, reducing installation time and maintenance costs.

Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket

Engineered for Water and Chemical Service

The Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, identified by its distinctive green and red color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a service temperature range of -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C). It is recommended for water service, diluted acids, alkaline solutions, oil-free compressed air, and many chemical applications.

For hot water systems, the use of Gruvlok® Xtreme Temperature Lubricant is recommended to maximize gasket performance and service life. The Grade "EP" gasket is NSF/ANSI 61 Certified for cold and hot potable water applications through 12-inch pipe sizes, making it suitable for drinking water systems.

Grade "EP" EPDM gaskets are not intended for petroleum applications, including fuels, oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors.
