Figure 187 CPVC Two Hole 90° Side Mount Strap
Figure 187 CPVC Two Hole 90° Side Mount Strap
The Figure 187 CPVC Two Hole 90° Side Mount Strap is designed for dependable support of horizontal CPVC piping in commercial, residential, mechanical, and fire protection systems. Available in sizes from 3/4" through 2", this CPVC pipe hanger is manufactured from zinc-plated steel, with a hot-dip galvanized finish available as an option for applications requiring additional corrosion protection.
The Figure 187 is designed for mounting horizontal CPVC pipe to the bottom of structural wood beams or minimum 20-gauge steel, providing a simple and efficient pipe support solution.
CPVC Pipe Hanger and Restraint
The Figure 187 Two Hole 90° Side Mount Strap can also function as a pipe restrainer when installed on minimum 20-gauge steel. During installation, the hanger mounting flanges should be adjusted so the pipe contacts both the mounting surface and hanger, helping minimize vertical pipe movement.
The hanger should not be anchored tightly against the mounting surface. CPVC pipe must remain free to move through the hanger as required for proper system operation.
Beveled Edge Protects CPVC Pipe
The Figure 187 incorporates a beveled edge design that helps protect CPVC pipe from rough surfaces and reduces the potential for abrasion. This CPVC-friendly design helps protect the pipe during installation and throughout normal service.
Easy Wood and Steel Installation
Installation is straightforward: snap the hanger over the pipe and secure it to the mounting surface using the appropriate fasteners.
For wood construction, #10 x 1" hex washer head self-threading screws are supplied, allowing installation without pre-drilling. Steel applications require two #14 x 1" hex washer head self-drilling TEK screws, Part Number STD-0090, which are not supplied.
The Figure 187 is UL and ULC Listed. Combining zinc-plated steel construction, two-hole mounting, CPVC-protective beveled edges, and hanger/restraint functionality, the Figure 187 provides reliable support for professional CPVC piping installations.
