The Figure 7400 is widely used in HVAC systems, fire protection, municipal water distribution, industrial processing, mechanical piping, chilled water systems, and commercial plumbing applications where reliable pipe alignment and long-term sealing performance are essential.
When equipped with the Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, the Figure 7400 becomes an excellent choice for water-based systems requiring exceptional chemical resistance, dependable sealing, and potable water approval.
Lightweight Rigid Pipe Connection
Fast Installation with Secure Performance
The Gruvlok® Figure 7400 utilizes a lightweight ductile iron housing engineered to provide a rigid mechanical connection that prevents pipe movement while maintaining accurate system alignment. Its swing-over housing design simplifies installation by allowing the coupling to be positioned over grooved pipe ends before tightening the hardware, significantly reducing installation time while maintaining dependable joint integrity.
Compatible with roll-grooved and cut-grooved steel pipe, grooved-end fittings, and valves, the Figure 7400 provides a durable alternative to welded and threaded piping systems.
Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket
Engineered for Water and Chemical Service
The Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, identified by its green and red color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a **service temperature range of -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C). It is recommended for water service, diluted acids, alkaline solutions, oil-free compressed air, and many non-petroleum chemical applications.
For hot water systems, Gruvlok® recommends using Gruvlok® Xtreme Temperature Lubricant during installation to maximize gasket life and sealing performance. The Grade "EP" gasket is also NSF/ANSI 61 Certified, making it suitable for cold and hot potable water applications where approved materials are required.
The Grade "EP" EPDM gasket is not recommended for petroleum products, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors, where a Nitrile gasket should be selected.
