Gruvlok Grade E EPDM Gasket
Gruvlok® Figure 7307 HDPE Transition Rigid Coupling with Grade E EPDM Gasket
The Gruvlok® Figure 7307 HDPE Transition Rigid Coupling with Grade E EPDM Gasket is a high-performance mechanical transition coupling designed to securely connect High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe to grooved steel pipe, grooved-end fittings, and valves without the need for heat fusion or specialized joining equipment. Compatible with ASTM F714, ASTM D2447, ASTM D3000, and ASTM D3035 HDPE pipe in wall thicknesses ranging from SDR 32.5 through SDR 7.3, the Figure 7307 provides a fast, economical, and dependable transition between HDPE and steel piping systems. It is widely used in municipal water systems, wastewater treatment facilities, irrigation systems, industrial process piping, mining operations, and utility infrastructure where reliable mechanical pipe transitions are required.
The Figure 7307 utilizes a four-bolt mechanical design that grips the HDPE pipe while engaging the grooved steel pipe, creating a rigid connection without the expense or downtime associated with fusion welding.
Innovative HDPE-to-Steel Transition
Secure Mechanical Connection
The Gruvlok® Figure 7307 features precision-machined gripping teeth that firmly engage the exterior of the HDPE pipe while a keyed housing locks securely into the groove of the steel pipe or grooved fitting. This innovative design creates a rigid mechanical joint with pressure capabilities that exceed the pressure rating of the HDPE pipe itself.
The coupling's low-profile contoured housing incorporates smooth exterior ramps, allowing assembled pipelines to slide over obstacles during installation or relocation, improving field efficiency and minimizing handling difficulties.
Grade E EPDM Gasket
Engineered for Water and Chemical Service
The Grade E EPDM gasket, identified by its green color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a service temperature range of -30°F to 230°F (-34°C to 110°C). It is recommended for water service, dilute acids, alkaline solutions, oil-free compressed air, and many non-petroleum chemical applications.
The EPDM compound offers outstanding resistance to weathering, ozone, heat, and aging while maintaining dependable sealing performance throughout demanding operating conditions. Grade E EPDM gaskets are not recommended for petroleum products, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors, where a Grade T Nitrile gasket should be selected instead.
