Gruvlok Grade EP EPDM Gasket
Gruvlok® Figure 7005 Roughneck Plain-End Coupling with Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket
The Gruvlok® Figure 7005 Roughneck Plain-End Coupling with Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket is a heavy-duty mechanical coupling designed to securely join plain-end or beveled-end steel pipe without the need for grooving, threading, welding, or flanged connections. Featuring Gruvlok's proven gripper technology, the Figure 7005 creates a positive mechanical pipe joint capable of handling working pressures up to 750 PSI (52 bar) on Schedule 40 steel pipe. This rugged coupling is an ideal solution for water distribution, industrial process piping, mining, manifold piping, commercial plumbing, HVAC systems, and municipal infrastructure where dependable performance and simplified installation are critical.
When equipped with the Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, the Figure 7005 delivers outstanding sealing performance for water-based and non-petroleum applications while reducing installation time and long-term maintenance costs.
Positive Mechanical Pipe Connection
Fast Installation Without Pipe Grooving
The Gruvlok® Figure 7005 utilizes a unique internal gripper system that securely engages the outside diameter of plain-end or beveled-end pipe, creating a rigid mechanical connection with exceptional pullout resistance. By eliminating the need for pipe grooving, welding, or threading, the coupling significantly reduces labor costs while allowing rapid installation and easy future system modifications.
Its durable design makes it particularly valuable for industrial maintenance, plant expansions, emergency repairs, and new piping installations where installation speed and reliability are essential.
Grade "EP" EPDM Gasket
Designed for Water and Chemical Service
The Grade "EP" EPDM gasket, identified by its green and red color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a **service temperature range of -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C). It is recommended for water service, diluted acids, alkaline solutions, oil-free compressed air, and many non-petroleum chemical applications.
For hot water systems, Gruvlok® recommends using Gruvlok® Xtreme Temperature Lubricant during installation to optimize gasket performance and extend service life. The Grade "EP" gasket is not recommended for petroleum products, fuels, mineral oils, hydraulic oils, or compressed air containing oil vapors, where a Nitrile gasket should be selected.
