Their wedge-shaped cross-section enhances grip within the pulley groove, reducing slippage and ensuring consistent, energy-efficient power transfer. The tighter fit also increases belt tension control and reduces vibration.

3V belts are available in both standard and cogged (3VX) styles. Cogged versions feature precision-molded notches on the inner side, allowing for greater flexibility, better heat dissipation, and improved performance on small-diameter pulleys.
