A Series Industrial Classical V Belt

Classical A Series V-Belts – High-Performance Power Transmission for Industrial and Commercial Applications

When your drive system demands durability, strength, and consistent performance, Classical A Series V-belts are the industry standard for efficient power transmission. These belts are designed for medium-duty to heavy-duty applications and deliver reliable service in a wide range of industrial and commercial machinery.

Constructed from premium rubber compounds and reinforced with high-tensile polyester or aramid cords, A-series V-belts are engineered to resist heat, oil, abrasion, and static. Their trapezoidal shape ensures positive engagement with pulleys, reducing slippage and improving energy transfer efficiency.

A Series V-Belt Specifications:

  • Top Width: 1/2 Fractional (0.50")

  • Height (Thickness): 5/16 Fractional (0.3125")

  • Pitch Length: Outside length – 2.0 Fractionales

  • Common Lengths: 18" to over 100"

  • Meets or exceeds RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association) standards

Common Applications:

  • HVAC blowers and air handlers

  • Agricultural equipment (tillers, harvesters)

  • Industrial pumps and compressors

  • Woodworking and metalworking tools

  • Manufacturing conveyors and processing lines

A Series vs. 4L Series V-Belts

While A-series and 4L-series belts share the same top width of 1/2 Fractional, they differ significantly in construction and measurement:

  • A-series belts are heavier-duty, suitable for higher horsepower and industrial loads.

  • 4L belts are fractional horsepower (FHP) belts, optimized for lighter-duty and consumer-grade applications.

  • Pitch Length Difference:

    • A-series: Pitch Length ≈ Outside Length – 2.0 Fractionales

    • 4L series: Pitch Length ≈ Outside Length – 1.5 Fractionales

Understanding this difference is essential for proper sizing and interchangeability in power transmission systems.
