Ridgid 238-P Powered Soil Pipe Cutter

RIDGID 238-P Powered Soil Pipe Cutter

The RIDGID 238-P Powered Soil Pipe Cutter is a compact, lightweight cutting tool engineered to cut cast iron soil pipe quickly and efficiently in tight spaces. Designed for both powered and manual operation, the Model 238-P provides professional plumbers, mechanical contractors, and maintenance technicians with exceptional versatility for overhead, below-grade, and confined-space pipe cutting applications.

Dual-Powered Soil Pipe Cutting

The RIDGID 238-P operates with either a 1/2-inch square-drive impact driver or the included ratchet. When powered by an impact driver producing a minimum of 200 ft-lbs of torque, the cutter handles soil pipe up to 8 inches in diameter. Using the included ratchet manually, it cuts pipe up to 4 inches in diameter.

Compact and Lightweight Design

At only 11.5 inches (29.5 cm) long and weighing approximately 13.5 pounds, the RIDGID 238-P is designed for difficult installations where larger soil pipe cutters may not fit. A removable handle, low-profile cutter wheels, and compact body make the tool especially effective for overhead and below-grade applications.

Fast, Easy Chain Setup

The Model 238-P features articulating, outward-facing chain hooks that rest on the pipe to simplify chain positioning and latching. This design makes setup easier when access around the pipe is restricted.

Clean, Controlled Pipe Cutting

Two-directional operation allows the operator to score the pipe before completing the cut, helping produce a clean, controlled break in cast iron soil pipe. This feature is particularly valuable for professional plumbing and drainage work where accurate cuts are important.

Built-In Overload Protection

For added durability, the RIDGID 238-P incorporates a patent-pending torque limiter designed to help protect the tool against overloading during demanding cutting operations.

The RIDGID 238-P Powered Soil Pipe Cutter is ideal for plumbing, drain and waste systems, mechanical contracting, commercial construction, renovation, industrial maintenance, and MRO applications requiring portable, high-capacity cast iron pipe cutting in confined locations.
