The Gruvlok® Figure 7004EG High Pressure Coupling with End Guard Grade "T" Nitrile Gasket is a premium mechanical grooved coupling specifically engineered for high-pressure petroleum piping systems that require superior pipe-end protection. Designed for use with "EG" cut-grooved Schedule 80 steel pipe, the Figure 7004EG incorporates Gruvlok's innovative End Guard ("EG") gasket, featuring an integral center rib that extends between adjoining pipe ends to protect internal linings and coatings. This advanced design makes the coupling ideal for internally lined or coated piping systems commonly found in oil and gas production, refineries, mining operations, chemical processing, hydraulic systems, and industrial process piping.
The Figure 7004EG provides a rigid mechanical joint with working pressure ratings up to 2,500 PSI (172.4 bar). Because it creates a rigid connection, it does not allow for pipe expansion or contraction. For proper installation, beveled-end pipe should never be used with End Guard gaskets.

Grade "T" Nitrile EG Gasket

The Grade "T" Nitrile (Buna-N) End Guard gasket, identified by its orange color code, is manufactured in accordance with ASTM D2000 and provides a service temperature range of -20°F to 180°F (-29°C to 82°C). It is specifically recommended for petroleum products, mineral oils, vegetable oils, compressed air containing oil vapors, hydraulic fluids, and other petroleum-based industrial services.
The gasket is not recommended for hot water or hot air applications, where EPDM or other specialty gasket compounds should be selected.
